1 1-3 c cup firmly packed brown sugar

1 cup sugar

1 cup margarine or butter softened

1 cup shortening

3 teaspoons vanilla

3 eggs

4 1-3 cups all purpose flour

3 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

3 2/3 cups white vanilla chips or 7 oz vanilla flavored candy coating coarsely chopped

3 - 3 1/2-oz - jar macadamia nuts coarsely chopped

method

heat oven to 370°F In large bowl combine brown sugar sugar margarine and shortening beat until light and fluffy add vanilla and egg blend well

stir in flour baking soda and salt mix well stir in vanilla chips and macadamia nuts drop dough by tablespoonfuls 4 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets

bake at 370°F for 10 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown cool 1 minute remove from cookie sheets
